Terms of Service

Chesslyst ("Chesslyst", "we", "us") is a chess-learning app that provides bite-sized lessons, daily challenges, an AI coach, and a social leaderboard. If you need to reach us, email hello@chesslyst.app and we will respond as soon as we can.

• You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to create an account.
• Keep your login credentials safe. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• Pick a display name and avatar that are not offensive, misleading, or impersonating someone else.

When you use Chesslyst you agree not to:

• Cheat, botify, or artificially inflate XP, streaks, or leaderboard rank.
• Harass, threaten, or spam other players through follows or profile content.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the service.
• Use Chesslyst for anything illegal or that violates someone else's rights.

We may suspend or remove accounts that break these rules, and we may reset XP, streaks, or leaderboard entries obtained by cheating.

Chesslyst lessons, puzzles, and Coach Rook feedback are for educational entertainment. The AI coach can be wrong — always double check important moves with a human or a strong engine before relying on them for competitive play.

You keep ownership of your display name, avatar, and anything you submit. By posting it to Chesslyst you grant us a limited license to store and display it inside the app so other players can see it (for example on leaderboards and friend lists).

Chesslyst is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features in the future, prices, billing terms, and refund rules will be shown before you buy and will supplement these Terms.

We are actively building Chesslyst, so features, lessons, and UI can change. We try to keep the service running smoothly but we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

You can delete your account at any time from your profile page or by emailing hello@chesslyst.app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that create risk for other players.

Chesslyst is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent allowed by law. We do not guarantee that using Chesslyst will improve your chess rating.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Chesslyst and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the app.

We may update these Terms as Chesslyst evolves. If we make material changes we will update the "Effective" date at the top and, where practical, notify you in the app.
